This week a number ofHollywood actresses have put boobs back on the agenda, exposing the reality of what it"s like tohave a cleavage on the red carpet.

Actress Sofia Vergara has revealed that having large breastson the red carpet can be incredibly painful, and her awards season gowns often cause her to bleed."People will often say that I wear the same thing on the red carpet, butI know my body: it"s very voluptuous and I"ve got the boobs of a stripper," the Modern Family actress tells The Edit."They"re a 32DDD and because they"re real, they"re everywhere, so I need my dresses to have structure–and under armor. There is so much going on under my dresses that I bleed at the end of award ceremonies."

She revealed how she plans to have a breast reduction in the future:"In 10 years I think it would be good to have a reduction.I dont think its even going to be an option not to [have surgery], because Im going to start having back pains.I wouldnt make them too small - just enough that I dont end up looking like an old stripper."

Sofia"s comments come in the same week that herModern Family co-star Ariel Winter showed her breast-reduction scars on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. She explained why she didn"t cover up her scarson Twitter:"Guys there is a reason I didn"t make an effort to cover up my scars! They are part of me and I"m not ashamed of them at all.:)."

Ariel underwent a breast reduction in April 2015, going from an F-cup to a D-cup."It"s important to talk about it because there are young girls suffering like I did, but there shouldn"t be a stigma about it," she has said of her decision to undergo the operation. She never planned to keep it a secret:"I kind of was confused by that question because to me it was not something to hide.I don"t think anyone should have to hide anything in general for fear of being scrutinized."

Speaking of scrutiny, this weekSusan Sarandon fired back at Piers Morgan for saying that her cleavage at the SAG Awards was "tacky" and "inappropriate."She tweeteda throwback picture of her in a bra toPiers Morgan, after he tweeted a picture of her at the SAG awards with the caption "Would Susan Sarandon wear this to a funeral? No. It was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute."
