Burberry has teased a first look at its debut straight-to-consumer collection, which will hit the runway and the brand???s stores simultaneously duringLondon Fashion Week on September 19.

The glimpse comes courtesy of a new Mario Testino-lensed advertising campaign, which will launch officially on the same day as the collection - a type of preview generally unheard of as designers tend to keep their ideas strictly under wraps until the big reveal on show day.

Testino???s taster images feature the brand???s favourite new faces (Jean Campbell, Cavan McCarthy and Alex Dragulele) shot against a backdrop of sculptures at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. The picture on Christopher Bailey???s mood board for the season ahead, he reveals, is Virginia Woolf"s Orlando, evidenced in the androgyny of the clothes featured ??? ruffled blouses for the men and a tightly frogged officer???s jacket for Campbell.

Campbell, the 19 year-old model and daughter of former Vogue fashion editor Isabella Cawdor, is also seen clutching the brand???s next It bag, The Bridle, the twist in the tale being that her picture is placed alongside that of the pattern maker who created said bag.Which brings Burberry onto their next big announcement, a collaboration with British craft collective The New Craftsmen. The partnership sees some of the UK???s greatest artisans taking up a residence in the brand???s new show venue in London???s Soho, allowing the public to visit between 21-27 September, to see them in action.???This campaign reflects a collection inspired by Virginia Woolf"s Orlando and also sets out to honour the many skilled craftspeople who work on Burberry"s iconic products,??? says Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Bailey.???I am therefore very proud to be sharing Mario Testino"s incredible portraits of Jean Campbell, Cavan McCarthy and Alex Dragulele, which we have set alongside portraits of our talented Burberry artisans.??????In this spirit of honouring contemporary artisanal excellence, we are also proud to announce an exciting collaboration with The New Craftsmen as part of our September presentation during London Fashion Week.Just as Virginia Woolf"s Orlando is both a love-letter to the past and a work of profound modernity, this week-long exhibition aims to nod both to the design heritage that is so integral to Burberry"s identity, and to some of Britain???s most exciting creators, and the innovation and inspiration behind their work.???
